I've gotten a number of requests for diets to help reduce the midruff.  I found these today . . . hope they are helpful.

Flat-Belly Meals for a Day

A 1,500-calorie meal plan designed to help you drop pounds

Breakfast: French Toast with Strawberries

1 egg
2 Tbsp skim milk
2 slices whole-wheat bread
13 strawberries, sliced
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
Whisk together egg and milk and dip bread into mixture. Cook in nonstick pan until slightly browned. Top with berries and sugar.
THE FIBER IN STRAWBERRIES HEADS OFF HUNGER and also helps ward off diabetes and breast cancer.
Total: 275 calories


2 cups air-popped popcorn
10 dry-roasted pecan halves
2 Tbsp Parmesan
IN A 2009 STUDY, NIBBLING POPCORN instead of chips helped people eat less at their next meal.
Total: 205 calories

Lunch: Tuna Salad

3 oz light tuna (canned in water), drained
1 Tbsp low-calorie mayonnaise
1 medium apple, diced
3 cups fresh spinach
2 Tbsp Newman's Own Olive Oil & Vinegar Dressing
Combine tuna, mayo, and apple. Serve on spinach and drizzle with dressing.
PECTIN, THE SOLUBLE FIBER IN APPLES, may boost satiety, and research shows that eating apples can help women lose weight.
Total: 397 calories


2 cups kale
1 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
Spread kale on baking sheet, drizzle with oil, and sprinkle with pepper and salt. Bake at 350ยบ F for 10 to 15 minutes.

4 oz grass-fed bison burger

GRASS-FED BISON MEAT CONTAINS LESS FAT than both ground chicken and grass-fed beef—plus it has more protein.

Indulge Without Bulge

Add: Julie's Organic Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwich (140 calories)
Subtract: The cheese from your morning snack, and use only 2 teaspoons of oil in the afternoon snack (142 calories)
