ONE SHOT HERB for hi calcium, minerals and B vitamins: OATSTRAW

Oatstraw (Avena sativa) is the herb of longevity in the Auryuvedic system of India. It restores nervous system integrity, emotional flexibility, and sexual flow. Oats and oatstraw are exceptionally good at nourishing heart health and moderating cholesterol. Oatstraw infusion (not tea, not tincture, not capsules) provides lots of protein, all macro- and trace-mineral in high amounts, and very high amounts of B vitamins - excepting vitamin B12.

A cup of oatstraw infusion contains more than 300 milligrams of calcium plus generous amounts of many other minerals. Its steroidal saponins nourish the pancreas and liver, improving digestion and stabilizing moods. Oatstraw is best known however for its ability to enhance libido and mellow the mood. Do be careful whom you share it with, or you may find yourself sowing some wild oats.

Oatstraw infusion is another favorite of those who want to feel less anxious. Preparation is the same as for nettle infusion; remember to avoid tea bags and capsules. The taste of oatstraw is softer and more mellow; you will enjoy it warm with a little honey. It is especially useful for those whose anxiety is combined with excessive nervous energy.

Oatstraw infusion builds deep energy for the next day, especially when you have been riding an emotional roller coaster. Oatstraw nourishes the nerves, easing anxiety and improving our ability to live with uncertainty.

Oatstraw infusion (not tea, tincture, or capsules) has been an ally for depressed women since earliest times. Gentle Avena nourishes the nerves and helps you remember why life is worth living. Oatstraw infusions have helped when muscles that lack minerals -- especially calcium and magnesium -- go into spasms and quiver. If this sounds like your legs, reach for a big glass of nourishing oatstraw infusion.

Herbs for Prostate Treatment plus BONUS 5min VIDEO

Prostate cancer is the most common and second leading type of cancer death in men, after lung cancer. There is not enough known about what causes prostate cancer and how to prevent it. Yet the disease is treatable if found in early stages.

This can be a challenge, since prostate cancer can show no symptoms until it has spread to other parts of the body. Stay ahead of the game – get an annual checkup (plus prostate screening).

Here are some herbs that you can use to treat a variety of these symptoms: Ginseng, fenugreek, parsley, oats, pumpkin seeds, kelp, melilot, bee pollen, buchu leaves, juniper berries, echinacea, golden seal, chaparral, sarsaparilla, wild yam root, yellow dock, yarrow, mullein, horsetail.

For urinary tract infection: Black walnut bark-1/4pt, buchu leaves-1pt, chaparral-1/2pt, echinacea-1/4pt, hawthorn berries-1/4pt, wild yam root-1/4pt, marshmallow-1/2pt.

For prostate cancer: buchu leaves-1pt, juniper berries-1/4pt, echinacea-1/2pt, golden seal-1/4pt, chaparral-1pt, kelp-1/2pt, sarsaparilla-1pt, wild yam root-1/4pt, yellow dock-1pt, yarrow-1/2pt, black walnut bark-1/2pt. Painful urination: buchu leaves-1pt, juniper berries-1/2pt, marshmallow-1pt, parsley-1/2pt, yarrow-1/2pt.

CAUTION – do not take juniper berries if you have any type of kidney disease or infection.

Male Anatomy of Reproduction: The Prostate
Men younger than 50 who have a bladder infection should see a doctor to determine the cause (since it is so rare).  Men over 50 with recurring bladder infections most likely need to address their prostate health while also dealing with the acute infection.

The Basics for Making Healing Herbal Teas at Home for Everyone ~ INCLUDING CHILDREN AND BABIES

KITCHEN HERBOLOGY

How to make your own cup of delicious herbal tea that is
warming, healing and easy to
make.

The basics:
~ Don't boil the soft/yin parts of the herb: the flowers and soft leaves.

~ Do not boil any herb that is powdered. Add it to the tea bag after boiling is done, while the tea is steeping.

~ Boil the hard/yang parts of the herb: the stems, roots and berries (to release and activate the healing properties).

~ Steep your tea: steep means to keep covered and sit for 15-20 minutes before drinking. You can put the saucer on top of the tea cup to steep it.

~ While boiling herbs - always keep the pot covered. When your blend contains yin/flowers and yang/roots mixed together, drop the tea bag in boiling water for 5min (covered) - remove from flame and let steep for 15-20min before drinking.  Use 're-usable' cotton tea bags. Uncovered, the therapeutic properties will escape; covered, they rise with the steam but then fall back into the water.

I've selected a few herbs from three common groups of healing herbs. You can pick two or three herbs to make a nice cup of tea that is also calming and healing.  Choose one or two from one or all three groups.

DO NOT SWEETEN WITH SUGAR.  USE RAW HONEY.  'Sugar(s)' kill the therapeutic properties of the herbs.

NOTE:
pt = part, that could be 1oz or 1 lb - depending on how much of the formula you want to end up with. 1/2 pt = 1/2 ounce or 1/2 pound. 1/4 pt = 1/4 ounce or 1/4 pound.

FOR EXAMPLE: the first blend: 1pt chamomile, 1/4 pt schizandra and 1/2pt St. Johnswort ~ in ounces = 1 3/4 ounces of the blend.  If you want to make more to last longer than just a few cups of tea, increase your "part" to equal maybe 4 oz. Then you'd have 7oz (almost a 1/2 pound) of your blend.

Store your new formulas in glass jars (use labels with herbs contained in each formula). Simply wash out and save your food jars.  That's how I started many years ago.

Calming Herbshops, lemon balm, valerian*, lavender, red clover, catnip,
St. Johnswort, schizandra**, motherwort, skullcap, chamomile
Suggested blend: chamomile (1pt), schizandra (1/4 pt), St. Johnswort (1/2 pt) - mix together - take 1-2 tsps per cup boiling water for desired strength/taste.

Herbs that break up chest congestioncoltsfoot, mullein, plantain leaves (not the banana), eucalyptus, lungwort, chaparral*, elecampane*, peppermint, orange peel
Suggested blend: eucalpytus (1pt), coltsfoot (1/2pt), orange peel (1/4pt) - mix together - take 1-2 tsps per cup boiling water for desired strength/taste.

Blood circulation /heart herbsmotherwort, hawthorn berries***, cayenne, garlic
Suggested blend: red clover (1pt), hawthorn berries (1/4 pt), St. Johnswort (1/2 pt) - mix together - take 1-2 tsps per cup boiling water to taste.

TIPS
~ Next time you eat an orange, save the peel, let it air dry on a white paper towel (also cover to keep off dust while drying), and jar for future use in teas.
~ To make a pot of tea (1-2qts) add 6-8tsp of desired blend and steep as usual.
~ Look up each of the herbs you choose; they each have so very, many, good health benefits.
~ DAILY use of herb teas can begin to shift ANY ailment you suffer from, and begin to heal your body. (If you can't handle the taste, make the same formula into capsules!)
~ CREATE YOUR OWN HERBAL HONEY - Simply take any formula and add it to a jar of honey.  Voilla!!!

~ FOR CHILDREN: Use your mints PLUS St. Johnswort to calm children. It
For sleep, I would use any of the
mints (1pt) with a small amount
(1/4pt) of hops
could be their daily morning cup of tea.
(1 part mint, 1/4 part St. Johnswort; increase
the St. Johnswort for desired strength) You can also use any of the herbs

that break up mucus congestion during the
cold/flu season.Suggested blend: Lemon balm 1pt, coltsfoot 1pt, peppermint 2pts, wild cherry bark 1pt. ~ mix together - take 1 tsp per cup boiling water to taste; then let them add a piece of the dried orange peel (while steeping) to float in the tea while they drink it.

NOTE: Herbs, for the most part, are NOT flavorful.  Very few are "tasty." They were created to heal, not stimulate the pallet.  So use smaller amounts of the general healing herbs, and larger amounts of the mints to enhance the flavor.  Add raw honey to sweeten.

Two Herbs for HEMORRHOIDS / VARICOSE VEINS / WOMEN (Prenancy/Menses) / URINARY TRACT / KIDNEY STONES

On Sunday my Post offered you a variety of ways to restore balance to the 1st Root Chakra, which rules the kidneys and bladder.  This Chakra can be improved with regular practice of the standing postures in yoga, eating protein enriched foods and taking herbs that helps restore balance to the two organs of fluid elimination.  Two of the Herbs I suggested to maintain/restore balance of the kidneys and bladder are purple loosestrife and gravel root.  Because they are both VERY EXCELLENT HERBS, I thought you should know a little more about each of them.

PURPLE LOOSESTRIFE
Purple loosestrife offers great potential as a valuable and practically useful medicinal, possessing an admirable balance of astringent and mucilaginous properties. This may seem odd if you think of astringents as being drying and mucilage as being moistening, but remember that astringents do not dehydrate tissues, they tighten and restore tone to them, and in doing they lessen over-secretion.  So purple loosestrife restores tone to tissues while also bathing them in a soothing mucilage, which eases inflammation and ensures lubrication.  People also use purple loosestrife as a tea for diarrhea, intestinal problems, and bacterial infections.   They also use it for swelling and as a drying agent and women use it for menstrual problems.  I find that including more leaves and stems in preparations yields a more astringent medicine, while collecting mostly the flowering spikes increases the presence of mucilage in water based preparations.

Purple loosestrife is sometimes applied directly to the affected area for swollen (varicose) veins, bleeding gums, hemorrhoids and eczema.

Gravel root has many common names to indicate both its botanical appearance and also its medicinal uses. It is called Queen of the meadow because it stands so high and the purple hue of its flowers make it somewhat majestic in appearance. It is called Joe Pye weed because one native American of that name used it extensively in his practice. It is called Gravel root because it has the ability to remove and to a certain degree dissolve kidney stones or gravel. It is a member of the large boneset family of herbs, many of which are well none for their medicinal value. Gravel root is underused in medicine today because most people just think of it for removing kidney stones and overlook its other uses especially in the genito-urinary tract of women.  Gravel should be thought of in all disorders of the urinary tract. It is a very efficient diuretic and is indicated in bed wetting. Gravel root is useful in pregnancy when a cough dispels urine.

I have had excellent success with gravel root for its use in the reproductive disorders of women because of its ability to tone and restore balance to the uterous. It specifically refers to its use in retro version, prolapsus, introversion, etc, all conditions where dysplasia has occurred.  Gravel root is very safe and the dosage can be increased according to the condition. For normal diuretic use the dosage of 15 to 30 drops is usually very helpful. In our experience the dosage in quantity is not the most important aspect of medical application, but the frequency of dosage. The normal dosage of 15 to 30 drops, probably the 30 drops would be minimum for an adult and should be repeated as many as 6 times a day in acute conditions. This will result in a much more active result and hasten the healing. Gravel root has no toxicity so the dosage can be quite large without fear.

Here is one healer's experience with Gravel Root: "This could be a cause of sterility and that condition is what I originally had success in with Gravel root. I combined it with black cohosh and squaw vine in a case of long standing sterility with good success. This is a well documented case where the lady was under the care of an expert midwife and much effort had failed. I personally knew the lady and while contemplating her situation remembered her having a car wreck where she broke her hip among other things. Although the accident was many years removed, when reading about sterility caused by dysplasia and similar conditions, I thought that this might be the cause of sterility in this case, as she was otherwise a very health conscious person who had tried all available means. After taking the Gravel root about a month or two she conceived. The midwife was convinced that it made the difference. Since I have used it in many cases and thus far have always been satisfied.
