The RED HOT Miracle Food/Herb

Capsicum, also known as cayenne pepper, red pepper or chili pepper, is not just a fruit or vegetable (as it is commonly referred to), but has been used therapeutically by many cultures.  It has long been cultivated worldwide as a culinary spice or vegetable, and simultaneously used medicinally.  Any plant with leaves, seeds, or flowers that is used for flavoring, food, medicine or perfume, is considered an herb.  The power of the capsicum plant is due to its high concentration of capsaicin, which is the substance that gives it its hot, fiery sensation.

As a food source, cayenne is an excellent source of carotenoids, including beta carotene – a powerful antioxidant that can help prevent free radical damage, and thus has immune boosting potential. Its high levels of vitamin A (two teaspoons of cayenne pepper provide 47% of the daily value for vitamin A) support immune function as well.  It is also an excellent source of vitamin E, C, B6, K, manganese and dietary fiber.

It is known for its anti-fungal and anti-irritant properties, though cayenne is itself considered a hot irritant.  When combined with other herbs, it can help remedy various digestive issues, neutralizing acidity, relieving intestinal gas, stomach pain, diarrhea and cramps.  For most health issues, cayenne can be taken in two “00” capsules with a full glass of water, or ¼ teaspoon to a full glass of water.  When taken as a digestive aid it helps increase the flow of enzymes and the production of gastric juices, facilitating the metabolism of food and toxins.  If your issue is intestinal gas, taking cayenne before meals will influence the natural peristaltic motion in the intestines to facilitate better assimilation of your food, as well as spark smoother elimination.

It can do everything from kill cancer cells in the prostate, lungs and pancreas to immediately stop a heart attack within 30 seconds.  It has certain limitations with certain cancers, like colon cancer, and is not recommended at all with chemotherapy.  Make sure you do your research before consuming cayenne pepper in this regard.  Cayenne is widely known as the “emergency herb,” which when placed under the tongue at the beginning of a heart attack – can stop the attack!  The intense heat from cayenne will actually hit the heart so hard, it will shock the rhythm back to normal.  THIS DOES NOT MEAN IT STOPPED THE HEART ATTACK AND YOU’RE FINE.  IT MEANS IT HAS BOUGHT YOU A FEW EXTRA MINUTES TO GET EMERGENCY HELP.

Because cayenne is such a strong blood and circulatory stimulant, it is also used for conditions of the heart and blood vessels including heartburn, tremors, poor circulation, gout, excessive blood clotting, high cholesterol, and preventing heart disease.  It increases metabolism by immediately influencing the venous structure.  One of my best "circulation" formulas is my BLOOD WARRIOR FORMULA, which has cayenne as its main ingredient:  The unique energy of cayenne, is that it normalizes blood pressure.  If you have high blood pressure, it lowers it; if you have low blood pressure, it raises it; and it also balances the LDL cholesterol and triglycerides in the body.  Many people who participate in spring cleaning juice and liquid detoxes, often use the Master Cleanse, which includes cayenne as a main ingredient.  In the detox formula, cayenne is made with honey and lemon juice to stimulate the release of toxins.

In many workshops and classes, I have taught students about the "10-Day Cayenne Eyewash."  It clears the sinuses, relieves allergies and asthma, strengthens the vision, brings clarity of thought and drains mucus congestion in the head.  It is very strengthening and healing.  Yes, it burns, but it is a healing burn, not a damaging one.  Do NOT do it for more than 10 days in a row.  If it is done for too long a period, it can be damaging to the eyes.

I strongly suggest you try it if you suffer from any type of head congestion, vision weakness, sinus problems, allergies, etc.  Take a small pinch of cayenne (just enough to fit on the tip of a steak knife) in about 1/4 cup of tepid water and stir well. After you throw your head back, you are going to squeeze one eye (or both eyes if you have someone assisting you) very tight and pour a bit of the cayenne water into the corner of your closed eye(s).  I take a straw, put it in the water, close off the top with a finger which locks a bit of water in the straw, which I then release into the corner of my eye.  Then SLOWLY blink your eye(s) open-and-close, allowing a tiny bit of the cayenne water to slowly seep into the eye(s).  Just keep blinking and allowing more water in.  Hold a ball of tissue to the corner of your eye to prevent the water from dripping down your face. Once the burning subsides you can stop.  Do that with both eyes once a day for 10 days.  You will be amazed at the relief in your head, clarity of thought and vision, as well as strength.

Some people put cayenne (or goldenseal) inside the nose to treat hay fever, migraine headache, cluster headache, and sinus infections (sinusitis).  Again, use a very, very small amount of either powder (just enough to fit on the tip of a steak knife) and sniff into the nose.  Because cayenne pepper helps to break down mucus that congests in our noses, lungs and chest, the heat will bring rapid relief to colds and the flu.  Because of its strong stimulating powers over the blood and circulation, Cayenne pepper also helps reduce atherosclerosis and blood clots, which helps to reduce the chances of a heart attack or stroke.

Some people apply capsicum to the skin for pain caused by shingles, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. It is also used topically for nerve pain (neuropathy) associated with diabetes and HIV, other types of nerve pain (neuralgia), and back pain.  Capsicum is also used on the skin to relieve muscle spasms, as a gargle for laryngitis, and to discourage thumb-sucking or nail-biting.

Cayenne is an excellent preservative and has been used traditionally to prevent food contamination from bacteria, as an excellent agent against tooth and gum diseases, and as a poultice, cayenne has been used to treat snake bites, rheumatism, sores, wounds and lumbago.
